Kids in Distress is a community supported agency dedicated to the care and treatment
of abused children, the prevention of child abuse and the preservation of the family.
Our goal is not only to protect these children from abuse and neglect, but to provide
for them a safe, caring environment in which they can flourish and grow, and when
possible, return them to their birth home. We are the only local agency providing
24/7 emergency shelters, group homes, counseling, crisis intervention, foster care and
adoption support, therapeutic preschools, complete behavioral health services and
intensive in-home family preservation services, with access to parent
education, domestic violence and substance abuse treatment,
medical care and various rehabilitative therapies.

Kids In Distress is a local, non-profit agency providing a full continuum of care dedicated to the treatment and prevention of child abuse. The Kids In Distress Auxiliary is a warm hearted volunteer group which supports educational and social events while raising public awareness through their ongoing fundraising efforts.

KIDs Classic Charity Event to Benefit Kids In Distress
The Kids In Distress Auxiliary is “gearing up” for the annual KIDs Classic CharityEvent! The KID Classic Event will begin on Friday, February 29, 2008 with, KIDs...IT’S A BIG DEAL - a Casino Night and Poker Tournament. The Casino Night will begin at 7:00pm and will take place at the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure in Weston. The Kid’s ClassicEvent will continue on Saturday, March 8, 2008, with a Dinner Gala and Auction , KIDs....START OUR ENGINES! A cocktail reception and Silent Auction will begin at 6:30pm, followed by dinner and a Live Auction at 8pm. Entertainment will be provided by the phenomenal band Musicology! The Dinner Gala will also be held at the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure.

KIDs Classic Charity Event
Casino Night is followed by the Dinner Gala on Saturday, March 8, 2008. We will have both silent and live auctions, a sumptuous dinner and amazing entertainment! Both events will be held at the Bonaventure Hyatt Regency Resort in Weston. The KIDs Classic Charity Event is attended by many KIDs supporters, including Sponsors, Underwriters, Donors and other Friends who help the Auxiliary raise over $175,000 for KIDs

Welcome to the 2007-08 KID Auxiliary “community” and thank you for becoming a part of our organization! We are a talented and dedicated group of people who are committed to helping children who have been given no choice in their circumstances. Our fund-raising efforts are used to support the wonderful programs provided by the Agency. We also act as “ambassadors” in the community by raising awareness about the plight of these children and partner with the Agency in their efforts to offer prevention programs helping to break the cycle of abuse and neglect. The KID Auxiliary works with local groups, businesses and schools to spread the word and to fill the needs at Kids In Distress.
We are looking forward to a fun-filled year spent with wonderful people working together toward a common goal. Our 10th Annual Weston Holiday Home Tour will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2007 and plans for our KIDs Classic Charity Event are underway, beginning with the Casino Night on Friday, February 29, 2008 and culminating with a spectacular Dinner Gala on Saturday, March 8, 2008. In addition to our annual events, and many other “fun-raising” opportunities, we also encourage members to participate in monthly outings with the children and to volunteer at the Agency campus.
